NMPP Energy is a joint action agency based in Lincoln, Neb., serving more than 190 municipalities nationwide through four integrated energy services entities: the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN); Public Alliance for Community Energy (ACE); National Public Gas Agency (NPGA); and the Nebraska Municipal Power Pool (NMPP).
 
Established in 1975, NMPP Energy serves more than 190 member communities and one public power district in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Iowa, North Dakota and Wisconsin.

About MEAN - Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska

The Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN) is the wholesale electric supply organization of NMPP Energy, a nonprofit, joint-action agency providing energy and related services to more than 190 communities in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.

MEAN provides power supply, transmission and related services to more than 60 municipalities, one joint-action agency and one public power district in four states.

MEAN was created in 1981 as a political subdivision of the State of Nebraska under the Nebraska Municipal Cooperative Financing Act, giving it the authorization to generate, transmit or distribute electric power, and issue tax-exempt bonds and other methods of financing.
